What the Happiest People in the World Can Teach Us About Living Well
Happiness is one of the most sought-after and elusive goals in life. We all want to be happy, but how do we achieve it? What are the factors that influence our happiness and well-being? How can we improve our happiness levels and quality of life?
These are some of the questions that the World Happiness Report tries to answer every year. The report is a publication of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network, powered by the Gallup World Poll data. It ranks 149 countries by how happy their citizens perceive themselves to be, based on various indicators such as income, health, social support, freedom, trust, and generosity.
According to the latest report, published in March 2023, Finland has been ranked as the happiest country in the world for six years in a row. It is followed by Denmark, Switzerland, Iceland, and Norway. The report also reveals that the happiest countries have proven to be resilient despite overlapping crises such as the Covid-19 pandemic, climate change, and social unrest.
